Great Choptank Parish Chapter, NSDAR

Cambridge, Maryland

Welcome!

At the time of its settlement during the 17th century, Dorchester County was divided into two Anglican parishes, Dorchester Parish and Great Choptank Parish. Great Choptank Parish comprised the area which included Cambridge and the northern part of present-day Dorchester County. The Great Choptank Parish Chapter was named in honor of this original parish. Christ Episcopal Church, the heart of the parish, recently celebrated its 325th anniversary. Its historic cemetery houses the graves of Maryland governors and  veterans from the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, both World Wars, and Vietnam.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Our chapter organized on December 5, 2016. Learn how to become a member here.
